can't log in to reset ip address

Postby erniez » Thu May 19, 2011 9:53 pm

I needed to replace my router so now I need to reset my extender's (erb9250) IP address. When I type 192.168.1.2 into my web browser to reset my extender IP address it can't connect. I tried resetting my extender with the reset button but it doesn't help. I shut off my wireless on my laptop and used the network cable to connect to the extender. I tried two different cables and still I can't connect. Does anybody have any ideas what I need to do? Appreciate the help.

Thanks

Did you assign a static IP address to the ethernet interface of your computer? Navigate to your TCP/IP settings and make sure that it has an IP address on the same subnet, such as 192.168.1.10 .

same problem... setting this up new out of box. Connected ethernet cable to laptop. Set local area connection for laptop to 192.168.1.10, 255.255.255.0 subnet mask. Browse to 192.168.1.2 and nothing. Internet Explorer can not display the web page. tried hitting reset and still nothing

please help. Is there any other resources on the web for help with this stuff? I'm finding nothing.

I had the same problem until I held in the reset button on the back of the range extender for 20 seconds. The red light started blinking and then the blue internet activity lights went out for second and came back on. I waited 10 seconds and refreshed 192.168.1.2 and I got the login box.

hope this helps
